If you are an NDP supporter this picture should bother you. Here’s why.

If you are an NDP Supporter, this picture should bother you.

Why?

1) It shows many that the NDP has a real lack of knowledge of economy. Harper had nothing to do with the failings of Target. As has been discussed by many, the reason Target is closing is Target.

2) Target is an American company that you expressed concern coming into Canada.

3) Your position is to treat workers fairly. What is interesting is while you are talking about the employees of Target, there have been thousands of people laid off from oil companies that you have said NOTHING about.

The perception is this. While you think you are coming across as standing for”little person” and “equal rights” it would seem to me that you are standing up for the “trendy”. Causes that is what you think you will get attention for.

This picture backfired. Big Time.

It reminded many why they do not want you anywhere near from governing.

That should bother you.

Agree or Disagree: You are worried about the Canadian economy.

It’s been a tough week this week in the economy. Actually, it’s been a tough start to 2015.

Let’s review this week’s news.

-Oil prices are at about $48 dollars a barrel.

-Suncor cut 1,000 jobs taking $1 billion in their budget.

-Target announced they will be closing their stores in Canada.

Many will be impacted, as well as feel impacted by what has happened. There are many different conversations, including one on the concept of a sales tax in Alberta.

The question I have for you is this. Are you worried about the current state of the Canadian economy? What is worrying you? If you are not worried, why not?

A Morning Rant-For those offended by Steve Poloz

For those that are offended that Steve Poloz suggested that jobless University Grads work for free, consider this.

There are many people who have started a business that work 24/7 365 days a year to ensure it’s success. Many times there is little to nothing on their plate. In other words, they work for free.

There are single moms and single dads that are working 2, even 3 jobs to either save money to go to school. Or, go to school and need to make ends meet for their family. In other words, they work for free.

There are many qualified people who come to Canada and cannot get employment because they do not have “Canadian experience”.

As much as people are talking about current job trends for university grads are low, I might suggest something different. Many companies have voiced that a good chunk of grads are some of the most unprofessional, uninspired, and entitled group they have ever seen. Many come to work dressed unprofessionally. Some have even brought Mom and Dad to the interview and even the job.

Sorry to break the myth, but your University Degree does not entitle you to the rock star job, fancy house, fancy car and fancy family. You have to do some hard work, even some s$$$ you don’t like. Even the super rich have had to do it. So, you will have to as well

If you read his words closely Poloz is actually suggesting that you be innovative, creative and seek out opportunities to put yourself ahead of everyone else in the job market.

Heaven forbid we encourage innovation, creativity and ideas to young people. That’s so offensive. (sarcasm)
