Last night, Bill Nye, the Science Guy, debated Ken Hamm, the Creation Man in another one of those creation vs evolution debates.
If you missed it, here’s the You Tube video for you to watch. I must warn you that the video is 2 hours and 45 minutes. There was also a pre-debate show and a post-debate show.
I know what you are thinking. What is this, the Super Bowl?
Nope! It’s the Creation vs Evolution Debate. Yes, the same one we have been having for, depending on your perspective, at least 6,000 years.
Here is my question. Do you think this debate has solved anything? It seems like we have moved on to a more nuanced and balanced discussion.
Something to think about. Not all Christians view the creation story in Genesis, exactly the same. Some look at literally, some look at metaphorically.
Some Christians actually do believe in concepts of evolution. And some Christians are actually bothered by how the creation story has been presented. Point being is Ken Hamm is not necessarily representing Christianity.
The other side is Bill Nye fully representing the Evolution side of the story. Some might say no.
The debate seems to making some assumptions that this is purely a simple black and white perspective. The reality is it’s much more than that.
